Just got this done tonight for tomorrow's Tamiya/Con 2003. Finally its over. I've been on and off for two months building this thing. I must say that this kit is one of the most challenging kits I've ever put together out of the box. Really tests your patience! I've painted everything specified in the instruction sheet with Tamiya's colors. This is my first time building a totally box stock kit-so consider me a newbie at this. :)
Oh... I left out the exhaust tips in the pics. I tried to get pictures before it got too dark.

I apologize to the dial up users. I got carried away with snapping images.

If not you're in the wrong forum to suggest a diecast could somehow surpass a hand crafted work of art such as the above! :D

Well, I just got back and I placed 2nd with the Enzo in the box stock class and a first with the Hamann 360 in the factory stock class.
I'm exhausted from waiting around for several hours. I got to meet several members of AF at the show. Jay and Jose were the only ones that entered. Lots of good stuff!

Yeah, it was great.
In the factory stock class, does'nt the car have to be stock??? Who placed first in the box-stock class??
I was glad to meet You, Jay, Jay's friend, and Jose.
I need to find out the in-depth rules for the box stock class because I'm gonna enter next year, but I'm not surea bout al the rules. I read the rules in the Tamiya page but that did'nt explain enough, do you have a link to all the rules for that class???
Congratulations on the trophy!!!

Congratulations on your first and second places, Walter.
What was the model like that took first place in box stock, must have been special to knock the Ezo back to second.
And what is the difference between box stock and factory stock?

Thanks guys.
I don't know when the judging criteria changed for a box stock kit. Tamiya's rules state that there are no deviations from the instuction sheet. The other guy had a tan interior and many small details were not painted in. I could go on, but maybe Mr. Tamiya likes the "trademark" Ferrari tan/red scheme. Many competitors already thought I had first in that category. After the show many of them were shocked and told me something wasn't right, but what can I do? Decisions are final. Oh well, nothing is wrong with a second.
Here's some pics to judge for yoursleves.

Technically in real life, you can order an Enzo with any interior color you want. I believe the instructions say you can paint the inside/outside any color you want, since it is in line with Ferrari's policy.
Still, I think you were robbed! Congrats on the second and first place finishes!

Congrats! In my opinion you were robbed, your model looks more realistic. You painted your rims which is the way they are on the real car and the detailing you did around the doors sets it apart from the first place car. The finishes on both cars look flawless, yours is first in my book. :)

I must chirp in, having had the chance to see them side by side on the table (BTW, they were the only two Enzos entered), and without any disrespect to Bill Attridge (who also won the Master Modeler award for another entry), both were flawlessly built, but here Walter's paint was much better.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Roman and I were lookin at both of them and saying they are the same but I told him the one on the right hand side (Walter's) has a better paint job (not knowing it was Walter's). I was suprised the other one won, but the other one was very well done also, it's just that Walter's was better :bloated:

When models look that good and that much work is put into it, its hard to put a rating or a place on it. I think it comes down to prefrence of the judge like color stuff like that. But offense to you, its a beautiful model and far better than I could ever do.

your car looks better IMO, I would have picked it honestly. this is coming from someone who spent hours around an enzo this week. your paint is perfect. the interior is perfect. I don't like the tan on the enzo, the real enzo I saw was like yours and I wouldn't change a thing. the only thing I could knock you for would be the lack of CF. doesn't look like the other guys had it either. you get 1st place in my book.
