A - Z of the Mclaren F1

Albert - the mule based on an Ultima kit car (they were thinking of using a Ferrari Testarossa, but that was thought to be too extravagant. If they did it may have ended up cheaper for them :)) for the gearbox testing, checking the potential of carbon brakes on a road car and to prove the centre seat layout for everyday road use

Without these two gentlemen's efforts, we'd have a whole lot less to talk about around here.

Since 'G' was used for Gordon, why don't we use 'P' for Peter Stevens.

His excellent talents and strong study of his craft brought the F1 a rather timeless design that is really quite appealing to many and part of the reason the F1 has remained in the spotlight after all these years.

The first image is less than flattering perhaps, but I don't have a real photo of him with a McLaren F1 that I can recall (not counting video screengrabs)...
