Hi,

Does anyone have step by step instructions (Pictures and what type of tools would be nice) on how to install control arms on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT?

Thanks

Front arms I'm guessing?
1) Raise and support, remove tire
2) Disconnect ABS sensor connector and harness clip
3) Remove sway bar link
3) Remove ball joint cotter pin, loosen stud nut
4) Separate ball joint from steering knuckle
(either hammer loose or BJ separator)
5) Remove arm to sub-frame bolts & arm

These are excellent visuals. Would you be able to tell me where you located these from? I bought a Haynes repair manual which was not helpful.

Thank you.

I have access to several online databases. Also there are many DVD sets available, Google "Autocd".

If your only problem is the forward vertical bushings (VERY COMMON) they can be replaced without buying a new arm.

My front two bushings are bad (both sides) so I thought it would be easier to replace the whole control arm. I was reading that you need a special tool to install the front control arm bushings. The kit comes with both the front and back bushings along with ball joint so I thought it would be easier (but little more expensive) repair.
