Done replacing The UIM and LIM gaskets Pretty easy But took some time Because I end up replacing UIM. Caught just before the UIM went. Replaced with dorman with the reduced stove pipe
I Broke the Fuel regulator vacuum line and I can't get the throttle body bracket screw in. The regulator is bad also fuel was in the vaccum line. And the plastic shielding for one of the injectors broke and I think it fell into the intake valve. Other than that all is well for now.
Here are some pics
Fuel injectors, one the shielding was cracked and the other one was in the manifold. May have to go to the junkyad.

No coolant in UIM area

UIM off. EGR Tube attached to Manifold due to carbon which meant no air gap. 0.75 stovepipe

UIM obviously damaged. The Nylon is fibrous

Developed hole when I removed the carbon and pricked it. Sunlight helped out a lot.

LIM gasket pics. Replaced with GM aluminum LIM gaskets. Gaskets have a Nov 2003 stamp date on them. I can safely assume that the have 60,000-80,000 miles on them. Green coolant. To me it seems to be a bad gasket design and not a coolant issue.

Side note and pic of intake valve . I buy gas on price not brand. Use fuel injector cleaner every once in a while. Valves look fine to me. not a lot of gunk.

Very interesting pics--Sounds like it went well and the UIM definitely needed replacement. I think I know the throttle body bracket screw you are talking about. On the Lesabre I used to have, I ended up grinding out the hole on the bottom side. I then put the screw in first and slid the bracket over the screw and then tightened it down.

I end up getting the throttle body bracket bolt in. I loosened the top throttle body nut and put a little pressure on the TB and worked it in there.
I did have to replace the #1 fuel injector. It caused a massive vacuum leak. Got one at the junkyard for free. Now I just need to replace the fuel pressure regulator and all will be well.

Good Job...
You should see what those gaskets look like after 80,000 Miles of Dex Cool..
Glad to see you went with the aluminum gaskets...
