idle issues 03 northface tb

Idle is fuct up. . It basically acts like someone is pulling a choke on and off. . . Idles chokes idles chokes. ..
What could cause this beside bad battery connection?
voltage reg?
idle sensor?

Mileage and engine?
Any check engine lights or codes?
LAST GOOD TUNE UP?

november oil and plugs by dealership 117,000 miles had a coolant sensor code coming up on a service engine light but no longer on but i did clean battery posts so code probably reset and will come back
just put a new cd player and sub in it and it was fine that evening.. next day it wouldnt idle right only WITH HEAT ON
Alternator was showing charge 15 volts constant until late last night
it started fluctuating between 13 and 15 with the rpm of engine
with heat off it is fine so I would guess that it's charging but the alternator is weak so with heat on it just cant keep up but that shouldnt cause idle problem if battery is fully charged?
I'm hoping that the alternator was getting weak and the cdplayer and sub pushed it over the limit? Think that's a possibility?

Get charging and battery checked out.

Also after battery disconnect the idle has to reset.

After driving recheck for codes?

If it clears up with the heat off, it's a clear sign that the throttle body needs cleaning. Disconnect the battery, remove the throttle body - clean the BACKSIDE with $4 spray cleaner and rags - watch out for the knife edge onthe butterfly valve. It's a miracle cure for erratic idle caused by our lack of a PCV valve. It may take an hour of driving after you reconnect the battery for the PCM to relearn the new clean TB behavior and straighten up.

Roadie is right, I just had to do mine after replacing my thermostat. Your comp gets reset when replacing the battery or in your case disconnecting and cleaning the posts. When it is reset it loses all information on how the car has been running and treats it as brand new. So a quick cleaning of the throttle body will most likely do the trick and it is a pretty easy job. Any carb cleaner will do but as for myself I perfer Deep Creep and some elbow grease.
