1 wheel spins easy and 1 spins harder?

94 Jimmy 4X4 I am having a steering issue and trying to figure it out but I need some help. I was going down the road about 50mph, it was wandering on the road and just felt funny and I also felt a vibration in my drivers side front but it didnt seem to be in my steering wheel but on the floor, so I stopped and jacked it up and could move my drivers side tire from side to side about 1 1/2 , so I went home and put on new inner and outter tie rods(Took off the pair still together - measured the distance of them so I could get it close) I also put on a new idler arm, had my tires checked- pass. side was low and that was the direction it was wandering in on the highway, my brother added some fluid to my ps pump that morning, the problem I got is that while Im driving I have to keep moving my steering wheel back and forth to keep it somewhat straight and every so often I get like a jerking in my steering wheel - like something is helping my steering wheel turn, but if I let go of my steering wheel while driving- my jimmy will stay almost straight(dont drift very much-I know it needs to be aligned for that!) (Alignment seems to be the only answer I can get) I have read some much about alignments and what it fixes and nowhere have I seen that it fixes jerks in the wheel. The tire shop said I had a sticking caliper on the pass side because when jacked up the drivers side will spin easily but the pass. side does not and I dont know if it should spin that easy with the half shafts or not? I mean on the drivers side if you spin it- it will spin easily. And also when the steering wheel kinda jerks(only jerks to drivers side) the truck dont go with it, could be maybe air in my steering, and I think my brother may have put ps fluid in the steering and filled it up almost to the top, would mixing the 2 fluids cause air? Ball joints and everything have been checked and there is hardly any movement. I also unlocked my sterring wheel, got under the hood and grabbed the steering shft and moved it, as soon as I moved the shaft my steering wheel would move, but where it connect to the gear box it would go so far in each direction and stop(not running) is it possible that the rag joint has a wore spot in it? Is it under the big black plastic boot at the bottom of the shaft? This all happened in 1-2 days. Also I wanted to add that before he added the fluid I drove about 4 miles and I guess when he checked it(not running) there wasnt any fluid on the dipstick, could this have gotten air in my system, only seem to happen on slight turns, its not really a jerk, just like a nudge, and my power steering pump has a whinning while turning

94 jimmy 4X4 should I be able to spin the wheel with my hand it keeps on spinning or should it spin maybe half a turn and stop? My dirvers side spins freely and the pass. side goes about half a turn, Im not sure but it kinda feels like something is binding somewhere when backing up with my wheel turned to the drivers side. Something just dont seem right with one of them

Probably the difference is that the calipers on the passenger sider are a little tighter on the rotor than the left. Some vehicles are like this and there is nothing wrong with it. If you want to free up the brake drag just hard left and hard right the steering wheel once. That'll free up the rotors. Racers have know this a long time. Have you ever watched them zig-zagging on a yellow flag. They are freeing up their brakes.

Actually, on a yellow flag the tires cool down. Zig zagging helps keep them warm and "sticky" for better traction. The only way zig zagging would do anything for the brakes, would be if a wheel bearing was loose allowing the wheel to rock back and forth. In that case, you're right, it would tend to push the piston in and loosen the slides. When/if that happens, you end up with a mushy pedal on the first application of the brakes. I'm not thinkin' a race car driver would want that ;)
Pull the wheel you think is binding, push the caliper piston back into the caliper bore. It should retract relatively easy, if not, the piston is binding in the bore of the caliper. Put your hand on the caliper and slide it back and forth. It should slide easily in both directions until the pad stops it. If you need two hands to move it, the hardware is binding. Center the caliper and see if the hub turns freely. If it does, the brakes are binding. If it doesn't, the hub or something in the differential is dragging or binding.

I had the caliper off and it was the same, I checked to see if the caliper was sticking after the tire shop said that was the problem with it pulling to right, I took my wheel off, spun the caliper then hit the brakes and respun and it was the same, My diver side spins really good, I am not positive about this but I drove it to the store yesterday and upon leaving I was backing up, had my wheels turned to left and I thought I may have heard a clicking noise from the pass. side could that be my half shaft - and I also read that excessive heat will have an effect on the hub, well this side was metal to metal on the brakes for about 3 days.

I tore it all aprt yesterday Old Master, and the bearings seemed fine to me, but it still spun the same as if it was on the truck, but I couldnt hear any grinding or anything, it wasnt loose. I dont know really how it should turn though, the half shaft seemed fine also, someone told me that one should be harder than the other to spin, is this true? How freely should it turn? If i hit the brakes it dont pull or anything- or am I just being paranoid since I just replaced the inner and outter tie rods, idler arm ? I havent got it aligned yet and thats gonna be tuesday. My 4wd seems to work, no problems going in and out or anything

I got it aligned on Monday, so everything in the front must have checked out ok, had my front tired balanced, still has a vibration so it must be in my back tires needing balanced and I'll get them done on Saturday. But my 4wd is still messing up, and I noticed yesterday that when hitting a bump on the road you can feel something hitting the floor right below the console, so I think I have broke tranny mount and when the 4wd drive is engaged its putting everything on a bind.

problem fixed, i believe when the fluid was added to my ps pump that it created an air bubble, took the cap off, kept turning my wheels about 10 times and didnt see any bubbles in the pump, and it also sit a day or 2 and driving to the aligment shop, the jerking in the wheel was gone, everything is good now
