Greetings...........I have a 05 TB and as I was driving my speedo went nuts, it shot up to 100mph and stayed there. Now when I come to a stop the needle goes to the 100mph mark and stays there and when I accelerate It goes to the neutral mark. Its an analog gauge does it have a cable or is it gears?:screwy:

Usually caused by the stepper motor in the speed head, all electronic unit.

I would assume this involves removing the speedo cluster from the dash to gain access?

Correct, then the head must be taken apart to replace the stepper.

But if you can solder, it's a quick job. Bad design of the early steppers, but Ebay vendors have 'em for $5 of $6 each plus shipping. Recommend replacing all six if you don't want to go back in there again.
