I was wondering if someone can help me out. Im making a wide body, and i want to make it as accurate as my abilities allow it. So i figured out the widebody is 1.5 inches larger on the 1:1 on each side. So 3 inches total.
So my question is how much is 1 inch (1:1) converted to 1:24.
You guys can answer in either metric or fractions of an inch.
PS Is there a formula anyone knows?
Thanks

1:24 means one inch on the model is equivalent to 24 inches on the real car. So, you'd have to divide 1.5 inches by 24 to get the scale equivalent.
The EASIEST way I know to scale things down is to use an architect's scale. One of it's 12 different scales is called half inch scale, and is marked on an architect's scale with a 1/2 on the end where it starts. Half inch scale means that one half inch represents one foot on an architectural drawing, which is the same as 1 inch equals 24 inches. This way, you just use the scale to measure things on a model directly. Using a divider to transfer measurements is handy too, you'll find those with architect's scales and compasses in your office or drafting supply store. This is a super handy, very useful tool.
