hello all im new here and looking for some help. my 99 grand prix gt just wouldnt start one day and i need to get it running asap. just a tempory solution is required. i checked the fuse relay(a 15) and the fuel pump fuse was blown so i replaced it( with a 20) and still no luck. so i think i have it narrowed down to the fuel filter being clogged or the pump is shot... any incite will be greatlly appriciated!

Well to start....is the battery ok? The car radio, lights, etc can all be working properly but with insufficient cranking amps the car won't turn. Also when you replace a fuse you should always use the same amperage.

For the heck of it try tapping on the gas tank with a rubber mallet or 2x4 just to see if it will jar the fuel pump enough to get it working again. If that works you will need to replace fuel pump. Can you hear the fuel pump when key is turned on for about 3 seconds beforre starting engine??

the battery seems fine and turns the engine over and even with a boost nothing really happens. im guna get the correct fuse and check some other relays in the morning... as for hearing the pump i havent really checked that yet but will do asap and get back

If the fuse blew I would check the wiring harness that goes to the fuel pump.

hmm ... what exactly would i be looking for... and the wiring harness sounds kinda expensive and scary lol ... i just need to get the car running long enough to be able to trade it in so the cheaper/easier the fix the better

ok well found a pump and got it installed, the car seems to be running good now..... but in the process of installation ,what i think is the breather line for the pump , broke off. the break in the line looks fairly old and dirty so i think its been like that for a while now. should i be concerned at all ??

Referring to the pic showing the top of the fuel pump assembly which line? One is fuel pressure, one is fuel return and the other is used for the evaporative emissions system so there should be a concern.

That is the one used for evaporative emissions. Just in case you could get the following:
