Hi,
I need to replace the alternator in my 1993 Blazer. Do I have to loosen the drive belt by turning the tensioner counter clockwise or can I just take out the alternator bolts and unplug the 2 electrical connections to remove the old alternator?
I appreciate any help
Thank you,
Vinnie

You have to take the serpentine belt off of the alternator pulley by rotating the tensioner first, then take out the mounting bolts and harnesses. Installation is the reverse order.
