I went to San Jose last night and every time I go, I swear...that road f***** sucks from the 580 to about Fremont. I killed it once on the way there and once on the way back.
Anyone else travel that freeway often and hate it as much as me?

680 is nice since it's just HUGE, but there are some horrible parts in it. I'm just glad they finally finished the section in entering Fremont. I hate the temp barriers. The rods are too narrow as it is for them to take the 8in of buffer space on the side away. 80 is garbage all over the place. Phoenix does have a nice system. Way bigger than what they need right now which is just perfect. Too bad Cali didn't plan stuff out ahead of time.

I fuckin hate 680 ... I drive that shit 5 days a week from the beginning of it in fairfield all the way to the 680 / hwy 4 junction just outside of concord ... I swear my car has more rock chips on it just from driving that road ... and I know this guy I go to school with who comes up it from danville has a couple of chips now on his almost brand new truck.

they did. it was just that the roads are all so damn old they never expected this kind of traffic. i'd say 80 is the worst. i can deal with the rest just kuz i have to use 280, 380 and 580 so damn often

i dont like 580 going to livermoore.. the lines in the road makes it hard to steer while doing 85... especially with small tires

580 kind of sucks going through Castro Valley on your way to Oaklan/SF or wherever. Well it's not TERRIBLE, but it's not much fun though either.

I quite liked 680 during the reconstruction. I had to drive from sacramento to milpitas and back every day. the barriers and construction mad itr fun, and when they opened the extra lane from pleasanton to fremont I could race down there at 105 as most people would stay out of the extra lane since it was so bumpy with the barriers and no shoulder.

doing 90 up that hill by fremont was fun too.

I also liked the stretch of road from benicia to fairfield, nice sweeping bends, narrow country freeway and everyone doing 90+ in the evening.

quite a few burn ups doing 115 on a 2 lane road over bridges and nice sweeping freeway with rarely a cop out there. :)

in 1.5 years I only got pulled over once and that was for a carpool ticket 2 minuytes before 9am, fought it and won through written declaration.

sacramento to milipitas commute everyday?? wow, you must really like driving or the pay in milipitas is very good. haha. my job would have to pay like 3 times what i'm making to make that commute worth it. lol.

I'm a video game artist and there aren't many jobs n the sacramanto area. Kind of sucks but my wife has a REALLY stable state job and game developer jobs are often fairly temporary.

The commute was fun when it wasn't winter or you didn't have to do crunch time, and overall I enjoyed it. In the winter it could take 4 hours though since there were so many accidents.

If you were up to speding in the carpool lane when the road was flooded iy could be pretty crazy, I'm glad I don't have to do it anymore.

Sacramento to Novato now, not half as bad.

i found a goody this wknd., the cutover from hwy 1 to 880, i guess it's a state hwy., highway 17, it's only 4 lane, but the 40mph speed limit twisites are so fun between 70-80 mph. I also had the fortune of alot of fellow traffic, hanging out in the right lane, or people going over to the right lane to let me pass. It was pretty crowded, but this may have been due to the holiday wknd. I may try again in a couple weeks. I did see one person in the other direction getting a ticket. Again this was the holiday wknd.
