So, that's the new question... Is there any significant difference between the diferent years of the 206 WRC?? I'm asking because looks like Scalemotorsport make CF paterns decals and photoetched set for the 99-02 I think. And Hobby Design make a set of photoetched parts for '03 on models...

Hi,

There are three significant evolutions of the 206 WRC:
- the 99 and 2000 car, one single air intake in the hood and the naca one and twin ones on the left. The 99 car had the spare wheel in the midle of the car, the 2000 (and later) had it over fuel tank in the boot.
the gear command appeared in Finland in Delecour's car, and was used after in all cars.
- In Cyprus 2001 the 2nd evolution arrived, and the car then raced with a three air intakes at the bottom of the hood, dashboard also was reviewed, and if I'm not wrong the new seats (with ears) too.
- In Acropolis 2002 appeared the 3rd version, with the larger rear wing (made false by Tamiya on the 2002 gravel version !!) and the 2 air intakes at the bottom of the hood (and two small air extractors at the top of it) and the new (single) exhaust end too.
Car body didn't evoluted after that and engine neither BTW.
these points surely will allow you to identify any pics of the 206 WRC you'll be able to find here and there (except if they are rallycross ones because bodies were different too).
About the TKs, except the air intakes grilles, almost everything is common to each evolution.

So... You're really the RALLYMASTER huh?? Ok then, thanks for all that info. I'm just falling in love again with the WRC of these years, I believe it was the "great golden age" of the WRC. Hey Rallymaster, seems like you know about everything of the WRC. Maybe you can tell me where to get books or DVDs of that age, '99 - '03...

Really, thanks for the info again. CHEERS

Hi,
Mmm I don't know if I really am a "rally master", probably not, but this is my favorite theme since I falled in love with it with Group B cars and moreover I'm a Peugeot fan and driver so... :grinyes:
I try to give my best in sharing informations and pics about this subject, especially about peugeot and WRC as I have tons of pics, personal ones or web collected ones.
If you're looking for good references, I would sugest you to try to find the "slideshow" books (2003 to 2006) and you may also take a look at the french books named "1001 virages" (means 1001 corners) or "l'année rallye".
Prices of these books are about 35/40 euros.
Ebay may bring you some results, especially with keyword rallye or rally in search engine.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you need more informations, but I don't have myself any book for sale about the WRC years for the moment. :icon16:

Excuse me! There's more than enough chaps on here can help you, but you've gotta ask the right questions 1st. And what's stopping you from searching for these cars yourself? Try these sites for starters:
wrc.com
rallycars.com
rallye-info.com
subaru-msm.com
juwra.com
webshots.com
If you want more, try googling the actual car name & that will invariably lead you to other links eg. 'Subaru Impreza WRC' will give you more info than you can digest in 1 day

Ask the right questions & you'll get the right answers but please don't insult people here who have the resources & the knowledge of the sport by claiming they don't want to share that info with you.

He he, thanks Seamus. No I don't stop looking around, it's just the time some things leave in the day. I was searching some weeks ago, but can find pics of the interior or the engine...

BTW, I don't think I was insulting someone, if you get it that way forgive me. Maybe it's my English... I ask in some other posts nobody answer me, but I'm not acusing someone, that's all...

THANKS for that Seamus, and don't get me wrong...

There was reinforcement added to the front of the rear wheelarches partway through 2000, which is visible in photos and would be visible on a 24th scale model, and the carbon fibre panels on the side intrustion bars were also dropped after the 3rd round of the 2000 season.

Hope that helps.
