Weird noises coming from?

My 2000 grand prix gtp started making a very weird noise about a week ago it sounds like a weird screeching rattling noise and now its getting worse to the point where a couple days ago its started making a whining noise when i start it and it gets louder as i accelerate, kind of like the sound a power steering pump makes when its low on fluid but i know thats not the problem because it makes it when i start the car and gets louder when i accelerate please help!

sounds like maybe the tensioner pulley. Take the serpentine belt off and spin all the pulleys, see if any of them make noise.

Also could be that alternator. Mine did it when the bearings let loose.

well it wasfirst the screeching rattling noise which is still there along with the new noise so now i have both, i think my car is falling apart lol.

Both are easy to check just pull the belt off and check the pulleys for excessive play.

Is it ok to drive with it being like this?

Personally if it was me I wouldn't. I would investigate where the noise is coming from. You may cause more damage by not finding what the problem is.

when my transmission went, it was making a whirling noise...might be that... just a thought
