No heat on 2000 S-Type

I bought a 1 owner 2000 S-Type from FL with 63M miles. When I got it back to Indy I found the heat not working. Will blow faintly warm at idle but cool while driving. I self- diagnosed a heater control valve and bought it on ebay. A friend who is a Honda mechanic was going to install it but he noticed that the hose under the thermostat remained cool even after idling 20+ mins. Anyone had any experience in this. I think I will swap out the thermostat even though it always acts normally and heats up to norm range while driving. Any input is appreciated.

Don't forget todo a coolant bleed procedure for the heater core, there's a rubber hose with a screw near the coolant reservoir tank.

Would I just detach the hose and drain the coolant and replace after installing the thermo, or is there more to the procedure? I appreciate your info!

www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com) , has a coolant bleed procedure, the engine needs tobe running & warm with the Heater on max.

There's a plastic screw at the end of the rubber hose, that needs tobe bleed, the coolant is hot, and flow should be constant.

What's 63M miles?
