first hello all. im getting a clunk on driver front thats absolutly driving me nuts. i inspected the front end all eccept outter tie rod ends, which were replaced. then when i looked at the bushings on the sway bar ,the inner was almost disintergrated. now heres my question...and yea its a noob one. how do i replace them? once the bolts are out wount te bar free slip ( you have know my luck....lol) so as to make getting the bolts lined up with out stripping impossible? also should i go wit the poly bushings? the rear seems straight foward but the front is kinda intimadating. thanks for your input.

Welcome to AF, ex North Bellmorite here. Anyway, go to autozone.com, repair guides for the how to, register and go to suspension/steering. BTW, good luck with the snow, my daughter lives in Bethpage.

your concerns on the bolts damaging the body threads are real...the rust belt has a serious negetive effect on these..if possible clean/lube these bolts/threads a few days before removal...

when removing lossen a half turn lube then tighten repeat this until the bolt takes less force to remove...this may work well so that these fasteners don't get damaged...

using the oem style is good, which is a firm rubber compound...

hello, how have u all been? listen i dont mean to beat a dead horse on this one but in reference to sway bar bushings, got the front outter poly bushins in....easy as pie ty verry much. here is the prob.....the inner bushings i measured over and over with a caliper and with a adjustable wrench and caliper keep geting 1.489". i can only find 1 5/16" which is just a tit hair smaller. will that clunk, as if it was worn? would you do it? maby ill just replace with oem inners. tanks again , Dave :banghead:
