1997 F150 4.2 Rough Idle When First Cranked

Just bought the truck the other day.
When I first crank it up when it is cold, it runs real rough, like it is missing. I give it gas a few times, and it smooths out.
It does feel as there is a slight hesitation when you are pulling from a stop, but it is hard to notice. I really have to listen and feel for it to notice it.
My main concern is the rough running when I first start it up.
I am going to do a tune-up this weekend (plug, wires, filters), but wasn't sure if this could possibly be another issue.

Have disappearing coolant? If they sit overnight they can leak coolant into the cylinders via the intake gaskets and cause it. Figure it out and get it fixed, an unattended leak will bend rods.
May not be your trouble, but it is common.
