Evo? Ha!!!!!

I just got back from racing an EVO in the SRT4. I went to test drive the SRT4----again, and the salesman saw someone testing an EVO stopped at a light. He told me to get behind it(we were in the turn lane.) When the light turned green, he nailed it and so did I. I kept up with him the whole way down a small road. He didn't gain on me at all. I stayed right behind him until we had to slow down do to the road was ending. All I know is that with the factory covered stage kits Dodge is coming out with, this little NEON is going to be unstoppable.:smoka:

I believe you, but an Evo would beat an SRT-4 if you guys really lined up at the strip, wouldn't it?

did they make the neon still ff?? good run but i's still rather have that power in awd:D

Ofcourse the evo would beat the srt4 from the line, no doubt. But we started from a rolling start. I'll tell you what, the srt4 has some balls!

The Evo would defenitely win off the line, but not by a huge margin, the thing is that the srt is almost 10k cheaper, and it defenitely has balls.

the srt 4 makes 220ish to the wheels, which coverts to about the same at the crank.

if you've got equal power turning 2 wheels instead of 4, you get less drivetrain loss, which means you can be faster.

awd isn't god. neither is the evo. just like skylines aren't.

cars can be beaten.

the neon gives a lot of cars much more expensive a run for their money.

so is the evo better b/c it's got awd?

The evo isn't necessarily better because it has awd, but it is faster.

he didn't say the neon was faster, just that he kept up with it.

yea i know...the srt-4 whoops on all the cars in it's class. have you ever seen the comparisons in car & driver or other magazines? it absolutely slaughters the focus svt, nissan sentra sepc-v or whatever, and so on...have any of you seen that video on kazaa of the red evo doing donuts in a parking lots? that's some sweet stuff...

Yeah the donuts are sweet, and the SRT-4 does own everyone in its class, the only car close to its price that does well is the WRX and it is a great match for the SRT, though it is a solid 3 or 4k more.

hey my bro just bought a srt-4 and a good buddy of mines dad just bought a evo. I started to brag to my buddies dad about how fast the srt-4 is and he siad he will believe when he sees it. So next thing u know about 2 hours later me and my bro r cruisin in the srt-4 and my buddy and his dad r in the evo. My buddy and i were both laughin cause we knew something was going to go down. NExt light finally turns red. So my bro palitly reved the engine and then the evo reved back. right then i was like the moment of truth. My bro got a kickass whole shot on the evo but the evo still took us off the line, but never the less the srt-4 came back and we beat him by about a foot and we had to stop cause of the radar detector going crazy. Just thought id share that with all of u.

Another point that hasn't been addressed is the Evo's extra weight. There's lots of it, in spite of the owner's lighter wallet. ;)

i've also heard the 04 srt is going to be up to about 240hp at the wheels and 260lb tq,limited slip diff,sunroof option and new blue yellow will be gone. :naughty:

i dunno, its all on how the driver drives. went to the street races. my cuz's gurl said that theres an Evo 8 goin against a SRT-4, and the Evo won. The dude in the SRT-4 didnt kno how shift gears. but i still think the Evo 8 would still win in 1/4
