I have a 90 Dakota with 85k miles. It has the 4cyl with 5sp tranny. I noticed that sometimes when it is real cold, but not always, going from neutral to 1st or 2nd is hard. I don't want to force it but it takes a little moving and pushing. The clutch is also all the way depressed. Not sure if there is an issue with the linkage or what. Anyone else have this issue?

Is it only when you're stopped? If so then I had an accord that did that occasionally. I would just put it in reverse, then go to first and it would go right in. I don't know, but I'm guessing the gears just turned to where the teeth hit each other instead of the teeth lining up with the gaps.

If it is while your driving then try releasing and pressing the clutch again.
