Taurus help - Heater and front brakes

1999 Taurus 3.0 OHV

2 things

First - our heater does not put out heat, it used to but just went out.
The blower works fine. AC cold function works fine too.
Could it be just the rotory switch or the resistor?

Second - when the car is cold in the morning - applying the brakes from high
speed causes a wobble like condition in the front end (only when applying brakes).
Has anyone experienced this condition?

It really seems like the discs are not flat, I may just try replacing the
pads to see if it helps

Thanks,
Darren

Both conditions are pretty common and a quick search of the forum will yield several pages of details. Essentially the lack of heat is likely a restricted heater core which could be due to galvanic corrosion and/or dissolved impellers on the water pump.

Warped brake rotors are pretty common as well, but should not be dependent upon the ambient temperature. The pulsation when braking should be there warm or cold.
