Mitsubishi Lancer

Fujimi body, it looks like a fake Evo 5 right from the start. The rear bumper is as thick as a base Lancer.
So this will be built as a tuned Lancer, without ever considering what it really would have been underneath its Evo 5 replica body kit.
Actually, this is the first body to put on 2K clear, by my uncle, who suggested me testing the clear on some cheap kit body before shooting onto my previous lancer projects. I told him to show me once how to use 2K and then he came up with this near perfect paint job. Only the roof and left fender have been polished, plus some minor dust removal done otherwise.
First modification on this are Virage iO style headlights.

Will plan on other things such as non-evo seats, front brake (to cover the original fujimi disaster) and tuner rims.
Thanks for looking!

I really like that colour, this should look rather good when it's all together.

Good work so far. The headlight mods kinda remind me now of a galant.

If the lights are bmf, i have to say bravo! Thats the hardest part for me is to make the headlights on most fujimis look halfway decent. The bmf rips or won't want to stick to the lights.
Looking good, will we see anything besides a mitsu from you in the future?

Lol I am starting to clue in myself that I have been way too concentrated on mitsu's, ever since I got my current 1:1 (its no evo though) Even my uncle said the same thing as he was showing me the 2K way. After this one though, I think I will take a break and start building some non mitsu kits I have collected over the years. The headlights are indeed BMF. They don't do a good job sticking to the bowls but as i was installing the "bulbs" I used some white glue, which should also help holding the BMF in place.
As for progress of the lancer, I decided to do the same treatment as the headlights to the taillights.

First attempt at any altezza light conversions, while I don't really like these kind of taillights in real life, in 1:24 they look not bad. It's a pain to make them compared to just painted the original lenses especially when you have to drill holes with a full size electric drill on a painted and polished body.

Wheel stance mockup. It was an unexpected amount of work required to fit those XS tuning wheels into the stock struts.

Doesn't look like it needs a lowering job.
For the headlights, there isn't much secret. The bowl in one light was made using a drill bit going halfway into a rectangular styrene beam, then the beam is cut and parts of the drilled circle was sanded flat. It is then painted and BMF was applied.

Happy Easter!
Because of the easter long weekend, I am able to spare one day to push some progress.
I decided to not use the little foil stickers for the rear turn signals, but made an LED panel instead. First attempt ever, I think it looks decent for the ebay look. Basically just drilled 0.3mm holes on very thin styrene pieces, then covered with BMF. The fact that the body has lopsided taillights is now even more apparent.
