Flat Rates?

Hi Everyone,

Need to have a radiator, Thormastat, hoses and engine strut mount replaced. Have taken it a few places and got totally different prices. I am thinking about doing it myself, but dont really have the time. Does anyone know the flat rate times on these so I have something to go on?

It would be helpful for you to specify which engine and year Camry you are having work done on.

DIY:

Radiator - $100-$150
Radiator cap - $7
Thermostat - $10
Thermostat gasket - $5
Thermostat housing gasket - $3
Hoses - $30
Hose clamps - $10 (if needed)
Engine mount - $100-$135 (for the big front or rear), $30 (dog bone or trans mount)
Coolant flush - $8 (add 2 gals of distilled water after draining out the flush solution)
Coolant - $26 (2 gals 50/50 premix, slightly less if you go 1 gal full-strength @ $14 and dilute with 1 gal distilled water @ $1 gal)
Drain pan - $10

These prices are for Gen III Camrys (1992-1996). Newer gens will be pricier for the radiator and mounts. Expect to spend the daytime on this DIYer since you'll have to remove the cooling fans and under side plastic deflectors and running the engine up to temp during the flush and drains then letting it cool. If your Camry's coolant hasn't been changed in a while, some pricier flushes let you drive for a hundred miles to dissolve more gunk & saves a step at change time.
