Which Fuel Pump?

Have a 99 Taurus with the DOHC motor and a dead fuel pump. Are there any fuel pumps to stay away from or with the less expensive models work as well as the Motor Craft?

I've seen posts that people love Airtex fuel pumps, and others warning to stay away from Airtex fuel pumps. The same will probably go for most of the other non-Motorcraft brands. But one of the companies likely makes the pumps for Ford, I don't know which that is though. All brands are likely to have one or two bad pumps that make it through the quality checks unfortunately.
