I just got my steering rack replace last summer; however, two days ago I went to turn the wheel left and the steering wheel went to far. I drove home but now when I turn the steering wheel the tires/front wheels dont turn.

Important facts:
*When it was fix last summer it was leaking power steering fluid and my cousin fix it, he said it was just a loose clamp;however, he said that the prior mechanic used the wrong type of holes. He said it was a pressure line but the prior mechanic used a regualr holes, instead of a pressure line type holes.

*In the winter time when ever I start up my car in the morning when it is freezing outside the car would sound like there is air in the system.

Sounds like the steering column is not hooked up to the linkage. Have someone turn the steering wheel and check to see at the end of the column if it is connected to the steering gear. Maybe when they replaced the rack they forgot to tighten the bolt for this. If the steering gear is turning, then check to make sure the steering arms connected to the wheels are moving. There was an issue with the gear in the steering on these cars if I remember right.

Good luck!

thanks for the information...............I believe you're correct, it seem like something is disconnected, verses something being broken or snap in the steering linkage...............
