:cool:After many months of just sitting around I have finaly finished this model although it doesn't look all that good it's not meant to be as it is a rally raid vehicle and will eventually be dirtied up to look like it's been through the ringer.

It may not be something like to top quality some pro's post on this forum but what the heck, he is trying!
I begin to understand why some feel uncomfortable in posting anything of their work over here.
It took me years of collecting the needed modeling stuff to make life easier, but don't expect every one has that money or wants to spent the amount of money I did in the last 7 years (you would faint if I would sum it up and that in a situation as a student with only a part time job :silly: )
Or is it about the color? ... :p I would have picked one differently, but hey, maybe this is Dingo's favourite blue!
Maybe you should have a look at the mirrors and bumber upholdings and give them a more realistical color.
And a good tip would be to be carefull with the glue when you are workin with clearplastic windows etc. Maybe use a special milky glue used for clear parts.
hehe, reminds me of my earlier models :smokin: but they looked really bad when I just used revell pot paints and the plastic tube glue

As you already know it is not the best model, but I do admire your guts to show it anyway. And it's nice to see you already pay attention to some details, like rear lights and the laptop.
For a tip, you might want to try to use a bit more colors, like black for door handles, window trim and mirrors. Right now it shows about the same amount of colors I had on my first car... Plastic black n chrome and 1 color for the body (my case red:)).
And don't let bad comments refrain you from posting.

Looks like it was a fun build! Obviously it's been painted pretty much all over in blue, but because you say you're planning to weather it, this looks more like a 95% finished build to me....I'm just eagerly waiting to see what it finally will look like once you add all the dirt etc. One criticism I have is to please not use flash when photographing your model. Use big, even lighting instead, whether it be in your kitchen, bathroom, outside on a sunny day or similar. I think given the right weathering, in the right places and somewhere outside, it could look quite realistic! I hope you update us :)

If this is all that you have to say on the thread, maybe you can better stop posting.
Not everyone is a master in building models. If you want to criticise someones work, maybe you can tell something that will help another.
About the model. I would make some color variations in it. Maybe you can paint the back rear windows in another color, pin wash the panellines, paint the door handles en use some pastels to give the car a dirty look.
A good tip for putting clear parts in a model is to glue them using woodglue, varnish or crystal clear.
So keep up the good work and don't get demotivated by some others. With the right equipment and knowledge you'll get there eventually.

Probably at me other vision of this model than at you.
I understand that the forum is opened for all.
Judging by myself, I wouldn't began to show such not accurate job with so frank problems.
I am sorry, if I whom that have offended or reserve.
Yours faithfully...

Thanks guys for all your comments after I had placed it on here I realised that I hadn't done the window rubbers or the mirros and such things that you all mentioned it was an oversight, as for the yucky windows that was due to the fact that I had left the magic tape on far too long and it was a fair pain in the rear end to remove so hence I plan to hit it hard with weathering, I sippose in one respect you could say that I wanted to finish this vehicle off and I was in to much of a hurry to do so and to get it out of the way. Maybe I should do another one and take my time as I can do better I'm not a beginner.

i know some people can't take critics, thats why i didnt post anything when i first saw this thread (I'm the one who give this thread 1 star), but i also felt that sometimes we need to said what we need to said, honestly...i think this pajero is badly built, but my first built many many years ago was not much better than this :icon16:
if no one said anything about it, Dingo might think he don't need to improve on his next built :)

What brand of kit is this?
Don't worry about bad builds, everyone had gone through that stage. Subpar builds are good material to tell yourself what needs improvement...

I agree with you Entau, but I think it is better to give critics in a positive way, by giving some hints and tips then by just saying that it sucks. :grinno:

Entau that is where you R wrong the kit is not badly built and it was explained before that the tape was left on far too long plus the model was built and painted in extremely hot weather 30+ degree heat not that I'm blaming that, I am not a beginning but I was in a hurry to builf this kit as it was a cpmplete pain in the rear end from start to finish as for building another NO I will not it is a bad kit as far as I'm concerned and another one of those curbside kits I bought without looking at to start with Aoshima kits as far as I'm comcerned R crap and I will not buy another one ever again I've finished with this brand of kit nothing and I mean nothing went rgiht with it form day one of the build.

:iagree:
As far as the build, we were all at that point at sometime of our building lives. Good luck with future builds, and check out the tutorial section as it gives great pointers on almost every part of the build.

You R all saying that it is a bad build yes it maybe but I dare U all to try and build in 30+ degree heat and do a perfect job, nah only kidding & oh yea by the way I'm not a beginner I've been doing this caper since I was about 17 and now I'm about well nearly 60 odd wear galss am a little shaky with the old hands but I can build a better car and I do have some great ones sitting in my display cabinet. Can some tell me wot this ":twak:" stands for, as I have know idea and it's one of the first comments that popped up, maybe the guy who put it up here can explain or as they say keep quiet.

Donīt worry about the criticism. Iīm sure it is not meant as bad as it might appear to you right now. I have never seen anybody on this board purposely hurting somebody elseīs feelings.
Cheers and keep modelling!
Robert
P.S.: One thing though. Try to use some punctuations in your posts. That makes it easier to understand...
