hello all
I have a basic knowlege of how cars, but I am no expert so advice is welcome!. I have a 2004 honda civc ex (manual). Here is the problem when I am driving my car I can see my head lights flicker. At first I thought it was road bumps making it look like they were but that is not the case. In addition the interior lights flicker as well the light flicker only happens when the RPM's are above idel speed. Otherwise at idel the headlights and interior lights are normal no flicker. I have taken my vehical to a local honda dealership and they can not find a problem with the electrical system no wire shorts nothing. My main concer with this problem is that I heard that this might be a sign of the alternator going bad. With it going bad it is throwing off irregular voltages causing the lights to flicker (from my understanding). Not to mention it is really annoying!

Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks Kevin

Those multiple grounding points (4-7 ground wires coming to a single ring terminal) out front can get pretty nasty over time.

Man, I also have the same problem! My car is a 2004 Civic LX (automatic). I read in other posts that it may be the electronic load detector (ELD) going bad. Others say it's a sign of the alternator going bad. I refuse to believe the latter because I've seen alternators quit (I'm the son of a mechanic). The alternator on my car does not display signs of it going bad.

Cost-wise, I changed the ELD, but this morning the pulsating continued. I'm curious to know if you've done anything or been given advice as to correct the problem.

All forums I've read agree to check all grounding wires...ugh!

Thanks!
