Ok, so I've read the rules, the FAQ's, and went thru the AF search, yet I haven't found anything on removing a 2001 civic engine. So...I am wondering if anyone can direct me to a walk-thru, or a site which details this process. I have never removed any honda engine, nor transmission. The most involved thing I've already done on a honda was to remove and replace both axle shafts. Although, I have done tranny swaps on a 1997 toyota camry, a 1995 chevy cavalier, and a 2001 ford focus. The toyota job took me 8 hours, I dont know if that is good or bad. I am not afraid to tackle a big job....the only thing that concerns me is the need for specialized tools. I have hand tools, engine hoist, air compressor and pneumatic tools...blah, blah, blah. What I mean by specialized tools are things such as fuel line release devices, maybe certain release pliers for cables and hoses.
I can swap a chevy truck tranny in about 2 and a half. Install a rear wheel drive powered car engine in about a (long) day. But I've heard honda engines are a headache. Please help. any info will be helpfol...unless its the wrong info. Thank You.
