Replacement Key and Remote

I lost one set of my car Key/Remote for my 2005 F-150 Super Crew. Dealer wants $200+ for new key/remote/programming. Do I have to take the truck back to the dealer or are there other options?

Unless there are 2 keys, a hardware store will not have the tool to program the security portion of the key. Programming the key fob is a simple procedure. How many keys do you have? The remote can be purchased on line or from a junk yard. All you have to do is have it close to the ignition, turn the key to the "on" position 8 times real quickly. The doors will lock or unlock. Press any button on the remote. If doors lock and unlock remote is programmed. You can even steal one from your friend if you want to.

I am a locksmith and would advise to stay away from the cloned keys that the hardware stores are trying to sell...
