Needing some tranny help.

I have a 02 Dodge grand caravan sport with a 3.3L. It has the 41TE tranny.

After driving fine after start up for several moments, the rpms go high and the tranny feels like it is not in gear. After moments of high rpms, the van "finds" the gear and will move but only at a slow speed with high rpms still.

I did replace the transmission control solenoid but had no luck with that. What could cause this problem?

- I had this problem with my 99 Plymouth Breeze different motor. It turned out to be corrosion on one of the transmission connectors, the one on the front bottom.
- Initially to fix it I had the transmission rebuilt and that only solved it for a week. I would then disconnect the battery to reset the transmission control module, and it would drive fine for the day and then back to the same problem until I would reset the TCM. One day I found the corroded connector and cleaned the contact on the switch and the ran a small drill bit in and out of the connector by HAND. After I cleaned it I've never had the problem again. You may want to check out "Dying Tranny" post as well, seems like you both have similar problems.
