4L60E, assuming it's 93+.

Be very careful about the model year, since there have been some changes in the 4L60E over the years. The solenoids changed, the electrical connector and lines changed, and the hard parts changed. Make sure your replacement is compatible.

Other than the fact that it won't go forward, what are the other symptoms? What is the line pressure in the various ranges? Does the unit turn the driveshafts if the vehicle is raised? It the transfer case chain intact?

sorry forgot to say it was a 1995 chevy s10 blazer 4x4

Also my symptoms are as follows:

truck ran fine till friday night. took truck for a drive and as I turned corner heard a loud bang ( i mean like a bolder hit the frame loud) it reved up in O/D so I put it in D ran fine down the road as I went to turn around it lost all forward gears. I still have reverse but nothing else. It will not go forward even if I shift it to 1,2,d,O/D. only movement I get is in reverse.

Best transmission ID is to check the shape of the transmission oil pan.

Okay, it's a '95. Correct me if I'm wrong, Bowtie & MT, but a '95 is the only replacement for another '95 due to the changes, correct?

On interchange always check the salvage yard interchange book.

Transmission ID can be checked with the shape of transmission oil pan.

You are correct. the '95 is that special year. A '95 can only be interchanged with another '95.
