F2000/F2001 question

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering how much difference there is between the Ferrari F2000 and the F2001 Tamiya kits?
I have an F2001 and want to detail it. There's the SMS F2001 super detail kit, or there's a Top Studio F2000 super detail kit.
I think the Top Studio looks more comprehensive, but will most of the parts fit the F2001 kit?
Thanks,
Jesse.

hi Jesse,
the Top Studio detail-up set is awesome and I'm sure most of the parts would fit the F2001 kit!
I've built an F1-2000 with the deatil-up set and also built an F2001 without it. the 2 kits pretty similar, engine same, rear suspention same the fronts are a bit different, so some PE parts might not fit 100% but I think a little filing and sanding can help.
good luck! let us know how it went!
Cheers,
Tom

Thank you NewTom,
You're exactly the person I was looking for. Someone who's built both AND used the Top Studio set.
I was looking at getting the SMS PE and CF sets anyway, as I assumed that the PE parts wouldn't quite fit. It's more the mechanical parts, like the suspension, brakes and engine details I was interested in.
By the way, I just saw your builds of the Ferraris and they're fantastic. The half clear Williams is awesome.
Thank you very much,
Jesse.

no worries mate
.... It's more the mechanical parts, like the suspension, brakes and engine details I was interested in....
those should be fine!
BTW I had the CF decal set too for the F2001 and I found the templates useless. they were all out of shape and way too big.... some might argue with me on this but I had to make new ones.
prehaps it was just me being amateurish..... :icon16:
anyway, good luck again!

Thanks again Tom, for the info and the heads-up.
As they say, "Fore-warned is fore-armed," so I'll trace the shapes first and check what needs to be modified.
And I highly doubt that it was you being amateurish.
Thanks mate, much appreciated,
Jesse.
