torsion bar adjustment on 98 blazer

about two months ago i got standed while visiting my parents. make a long story short i had to have the driverside lower control arm replaced along with some other components. when these guys put the tension back on the torsion bar they: 1-did not definatley did not adjust the passangerside side torsion bar and/or 2-cranked the crap out of the driverside(which i'm pretty sure is not the case). something is definatley off b/c the passanger side a full 1.5in lower then the other, i have a nasty rub, excessive wear on inside pass. tire, and pull to right while driving.

my questions to the blazer wizards are: what should the proper height be(knowing the back should be slightly higher)? what do i measure off(level ground to...)and if both or just one side needs adjusting, what is the correct and safest way to do so

Ride height is the vertical distance between the lower-most inboard point of the steering knuckle, nearest the lower ball joint, to the center of the lower control arm pivot bolt. It should be measured/adjusted with the vehicle on a perfectly level surface, front to rear and side to side. This can usually be found on an alignment rack that is well maintained. Depending on what suspension you have, ZR2, Z85, etc, the distance is approximately 4.5 inches. After front chassis ride height is adjusted, the alignment should at least be checked. Chassis ride height directly affects wheel alignment.

You can usually measure from the ground to the middle of the fender on the bottom lip and the height usually depends on is you have the ZR2 package or 2wd or 4wd, but should be around maybe 40 in, how you adjust it is your going to need a impact, maybe alittle tricky with hand tools and i believe a 22mm socket, also you may need a torsion bar unloader tool, hope this helps you.

go very slow and pay attention, take your time, ive been at gm dealers for 6 years and the only time i had to use the tool is when i had to take the torsion bars out, but you shouldnt to adjust them
