Any ideas? I don't think it's the switch, and I just recently put in a new battery which may or may not have done something to some wiring somewhere. I have checked all fuses (I think) and they seem to all be in order. Happen to anyone before?

That problem happened on my 97 standard model, the "turn signal" fuse
although it was not open had slight corrosion buildup on the contacts, i scraped the contact areas with a knife, re-install the fuse and normal working turn signals again.

That's the fuse in the interior right, on the side of the dash board only accesible after the door is open?

Yes, drivers side, far left on side of dash, only accessible with drivers door open, i think it was a 10 Amp fuse (red) , look at the fuse location label on the removable fuse panel door. I think it has multiple circuits tied to the fuse i pulled. I checked the owners manual for the correct fuse, i think it was the "3rd" fuse up on the side - again, check the owners manual fuse section for the exact fuse location.

Okay. I'll try tomorrow, but I do know I checked all those fuses and they were all good. If in fact the conection prongs are corroded and it works, it would be a minor miracle.

the fuse will check good , it's the intermittent - poor contact that was causing the problem on mine (not allowing sufficient voltage through the fuse - causing electrical resistance ) hope it is the same with yours. Just clean the contacts - or scrape with knife.

It was the 20 amp yellow " HAZ " "STOP HAZ" fuse tied in with Turn Signal circuit. Again, buildup-corrosion on a metal conductor won't be a sufficient electrical conductor for higher current to flow through. When the Hazard or Turn Signals are switched on the relay passes Higher Current through the circuit.
