My van started sputtering and missed a few times then died. Had to tow it back to the house.. I been trying to start it. Engine turns got it to idle for like 2 or 3 seconds and it would die again. Any ideas?

Check for spark and fuel. To check for spark ground a spark plug and turn the engine over. Check for fuel at the fuel rail by depressing the schraeder valve. If no fuel replace the fuel filter. If that doesn't solve the problem I suspect you have a faulty fuel pump.

Sorry if I sound dumb but where is the schraeder valve on a 3.0?

Thanks :)

It's at the end of the fuel rail. The fuel rail runs parallel to the injectors. It looks like a tire valve only it's in the end of the chromed fuel rail.

I hear pops out the intake like popcorn, I have to pump the gas to keep it running, it wont idle.

Ive replaced the fuel filter and plugs to no avail, and it's still doing the same thing. Im getting a rich running condition and the exaust has a strong smell comming out. Ive cleaned the MAF, Throttle Body and IACV.

Should I replace the MAF??!!??

Popping back through the intake is an indication the ignition timing is off (CKP) Crankshaft position Sensor is bad or the valve timing is off due to a slipped timing belt. It could very well be the MAF. When it goes bad the mixture goes to a rich setting by default. Can you take the intake hose off and clean the MAF. Go to your parts store or the automotive section at WalMart and get some electrical cleaning spray. Spray the MAF wire, but don't touch it with anything. If that doesn't help you may have to get a new MAF sensor.

Where is the crankshaft position sensor located?

Changed out the camshaft position sensor, though there was improvement in the idle it still wouldn't hold.

My brother had the day off today so we went to O'reilly's and went for broke and bought a new Mass AirFlow Sensor. Looks like it did the trick. I rode it around the block and went to the store.

I'll see what happens tomorrow when I take it on the freeway to work...Wish me luck! :)
