im using this utter peice of shit valve spring compressor, but i need like 5 hands to even mount the thing to my b16, and for some reason i can only get the exhuast valves off, but it takes like 30min a valve, is there an easier way to do this?

you trying to get them off right? take a socket as big around as the valve spring, and put it on top. then just whack the socket with a hammer. the clips will come off, i promise. and to put it back on after you rebuild, just use an 02 sensor socket (the kind with the slit up the side) and your spring compressor, compress it down, and using needle nose pliers put the clips back in. simple, although it does take a long time

He's got it exactly.
I just finished rebuilding a engine in school and I used a piece of pipe about a 1" high and the same diameter as the valve spring. To get the little metal clips off take a flat head screwdriver rub it on a magnet to magnatize it, then touch the clip. It should come out no problem.
Hope that helps man!

ok i havent tried the mallet method yet, but what i did was take a socket and put it in the teeth of the compressor to therotically make it longer, so after a good compress and releasing the tension on the compressor fast the retainers go flying and the whole mess starts again. i kept an old rag over the retainers so i could find them later.
but i gotta try that mallet method, seems easier.
