Im fixin to rebuild the 2.2 in my 98 Cavalier, but not real sure on how the motor comes out of one of thiese transversed cars.
So far i've got the head off the motor, and the rest off the motor need to come out. Im not sure if it comes out from under the car, or if it will come up out threw the hood, it looks pretty tight in there.
Plus i dont see any place to where i can get to the torque converter bolts, please advise on the best way to pull the rest of the motor. :runaround:

autozone.com has a nice step-by-step procedure for you... 32 steps
apparently, their way is to remove the driveshafts and raise the vehicle on a lift, leaving the engine below (guess it goes through the bottom)
Remove the support fixture from the engine, then raise the vehicle, leaving the engine and transaxle assembly on the table.
Unfasten the retaining bolts, then separate the engine from the transaxle.
also, try this link:

Well i got the motor out, had to pull it out with the tranny intact up out threw the hood. The only thing is, i had the head off though, which made things much easier clearence wise.
