my dad has his beloved 94 explorer. its been great to him. it was experiencing at first no brake lights, i found out that it was the brake switch. i fixed that and now the cruise control does not work at all. any suggestions

Double check that brake switch. When system senses that brake pedal has been pressed, it turns off the cruise control. Some vehicles use input from brake switch, some have separate but similar switch mounted next to brake switch, some have brake fluid pressure sensor mounted on master cylinder to perform that function. Sorry I don't know exact setup for 94 exp. On my daughter's Sentra, there is a plastic disk glued to the brake pedal which presses up against the cruise control/brake switch. After ten years, the glue gave out, plastic disk fell off, cruise quit working. Even though pedal was pressing against the switch, it wasn't pressing it far enough in without the plastic disk. Hope this helps.

When he gets home ill take a look at it and see if thats the issue, i sure hope so. see the cruise control would work before but the brake lights wouldnt, so what would happen is the truck would slow down but then it would floor itself to get back up to speed. but since i fixed the brake switch now the cruise control dont work.
