89 toyota thermostat

cant find the thermostat in my 1989 4x4 pickup

Follow the radiator hose from the bottom of the radiator to the engine (passenger side). The thermostat is located inside the water neck that the hose connects to...usually held onto the engine by 2 nuts.

If i'm not mistaken, but isn't the thermostat right between the intake manifold and the valve cover on the topside? It is if it's the 22r or the 22re.

Should be the top hose not the bottom.

nope it is the bottom on this truck never seen one like that

Oh you didn't say what engine so I thought it must be the 22R, but I guess you got the V6.

if you have a V6 the thermostat is on the drivers side. just follow the botom radiator hose and their will be three nuts holding it on. need a deepwell socket to get them off.
