2001 Taurus Wagon. I am getting a pop/clunk sound when turning right from a dead stop. You can sort of feel it through the steering wheel and just happens once (not as the wheel returns). Any thoughts are appriciated. Thanks.

Check your cv halfshafts for worn, torn boots and bad ujoints.

You need to get the vehicle off the ground very soon and inspect all the front end components for play. It sounds like you might have a ball joint or tie rod end about ready to fall apart.
If everything seems tight, then it might be due to a sway bar end link or strut mount. You could also have a joint that is dry, but a dry joint usually will cause a squeak noise.
If it were an outer CV joint I'd expect that you'd hear the noise at least once per wheel revolution when the wheel is turned. A bad inner CV joint would tend to be noisy on acceleration.
