I would check for spark and fuel. Pull a plug and ground it to the engine. Is it sparking?
Read the plugs. Are they wet with fuel. If so then you are getting fuel. A broken timing belt will keep it from starting and when you turn it over it will spin the engine faster. I'm assuming that since you drove it home and parked it that the timing belt is intact. Check it by looking into the oil filler hole with a flashlight as somebody turns the engine over. If you can see the valve train moving the timing belt is all right. If not, then that's the problem. If the plugs are dry spray some starting fluid in the intake housing. If it starts the problem is no fuel. Replace the fuel filter if it's never been done. Can you hear the fuel pump running underneath your back seat when you turn the key to on? If not your pump is probably out. How many miles do you have on your Focus?

1) Check for fuel @ the fuel rail 1st
If no, need to roll the fuel pump fuse + relay to another location in fuse box.
