Mercedes C220 Cdi

The starter motor on a Mercedes C220 Cdi does not work. One morning it cranks and the vehicle starts. In between it keeps on starting. Intermittantly again when the enginge is stopped, the starter motor does not turn over. Could it be an ignition key problem or an ignition switch problem?

The C-Class retains its traditional front-engined, rear wheel drive layout, and every variant now gets adaptive dampers all-round. The engine to go for if you have a functioning brain is the 231bhp, 3.0-litre diesel.
