Finished this one today.

I built the #63 since it has the Canadian driver
Paint is Krylon sun yellow, for clear coat I airbrushed on 3 coats of future floor polish. Wheels were painted tamiya flat aluminum.
I also used some scrap PE parts I had laying around, the antennas are stretched sprue and the Naca ducts on the vent windows are decals from Powerslide.

Overall the kit is good, but the detail is really simplified on the engine and interior so I didn't bother to much with those lol.
also my body was warped a bit , that went away when I glued it to the chassis but then I found the hood would not sit flush on the straight body so I ended up gluing it on

That is really a nice build. Just proves you can still build a great looking model without spending $100.00 on aftermarket parts!!

That is a tasty looking race Vette! Great paint/finish. Did you have to alter the suspension to get the nice low stance / wheel positions you achieved? The pic on the box doesn't look nearly as good with the front wheels too far out and the rears too far in. I have a 2001 version and I think I will need to do some mods on that as it isn't quite right. With regard to the warping I have found with warped parts that you can often sort it by putting the offending part in hot tap water for about 10mins and then twisting carefully the other way, obviously before painting. It does make me wince but usually works ok! Anyway excellent result!

I built this kit also and it does need some work. The reason the wheels stick out is they need drilled some so the axle goes in all the way. The ride heghth is a little high and needs the axle holes adjusted. Also the front left wheel sits too far back in the wheel opening. The funny thing is that their street kit suffers from the wheel opening problem even though it has a totally different suspension.

the rear tires fit under good as long as you get the metal axle pushed in all the way.
on the fronts i didn't use the metal axle and just glued the tires on in the spot i wanted lol

Craig
