I have a 94 caprice classic that everytime i start it a light comes on the dash that says Pass Key Fault. Does anyone know what this means? Also from time to time the low level light will come on, but the oil is full, and you can shut the car off and then start it right back up and it will be off. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks...

Everything seems to be fine with the oil pan and all the connections with the wires for the light...But the low level oil light still comes on from time to time and I can shut the car off and restart it and it will go out. It doesnt come on everytime i start the car, just every now and then..Any more suggestions on what the problem may be? Thanks..

with the oil level light.....If you where down 2.5qts the oil light should come on ..if you shut off the engine and quickly restart the light will not come on because the engine temp did not change...if you waited for the engine to cool then the light would come on...

since this does act correctly in this circuit operation ..I would once again say the oil pan sensor is defective /dirty...remove clean and re-install..

The PassKey light should turn on every time the ignition is turned on, then turn off after about five seconds.

The oil sensor probably needs to be cleaned, as jcAT suggests.

The pass key light stays on the whole time the car is running, and the low level oil light will only come on sometimes when the car is started, but then you can shut the car off and start it right back up and the light will go out. And the car is not low on oil and is full to the right level...

go to the lock smith for the new ignition key rather than dealer..it should be less expensive...
