96 Bonneville won't stay started

NEED HELP!.. My step son was driving this car around with no problems.. It turned off on him. Now it will start.. But it cuts off after just seconds. I think it could be the fuel pump. I pump the gas pedal (rev it up) to TRY and keep it running, but it just cuts off. I need advice I have to many kids to count and just want to get this thing running again.. I'm a do it yourselfer and if there are several inexpensive things I could try, let me know...

Best test is to connect a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. The freebee is to check the driver's side ground bus for corrosion.

is there a security lite that comes on for the vat system these cars a noted for this.listenfor the pump to run before start up is the a ck engine light need more input

could be a mass air flow sensor it happened to my bonneville just quit all of a sudden it would run when i applied the gas pedal i replaced the mass air flow sensor and fixed the problem

Is the Security Light on Solid?
