Rebuilding a Venture

I don't have it in my budget to buy a new car, and I really love my 01 Venture. Only real body work that needs to be done is with the rocker panels, and maybe a good paint job (my son gave me racing stripes with my keys). Engine has about 100,000 miles on it, and things are starting to fail. Is it worth putting a new engine in when the engine finally goes so long as the body is in good shape, or should I trade it in, and get a new one in that event?

It depends on how much you like it and if you intend to do the work.
I put a rebuilt engine in my 99 silo when it had 121k miles on it. I love the van, and now at 200k, I still love it.
I don't think I can afford to replace the van with something comparable today so for me it was certainly worth the cost.
Here is a thread that shows my engine getting installed:

I paid $2k for the engine with 3year/100k warranty.
