2000 isuzu rodeo idles then quickly stalls

the other day my 2000 isuzu rodeo would start,then quickly stall,took it to a mechanic where it sat for a day and then seem to run ok,idle seems to surge,ive read about the manifold gasket issue,is there a way to test the gasket or do you have to replace and hope it solves the issue?

Are you getting a CEL? IF you are get the codes read at your local auto parts store. That would help.

I had an issue with the idle, after chaning the Idle Air Control sensor the issue was fixed.. what was intresting was the codes I got back on the CEL check did not tag that the Idle Air Control sensor was bad. ... Got the idea to change that sensor after having the Idle Air Control sensor replaced on my Taurus to correct the same issue.
