MGB modifications

I've read the information on the upgrading of the power in the MGB..mine is a 1977 convertible...I know a v-8..straight 6 and upgrade of the original 4 are options..My question is..if money is only a minor problem..what would be the optimum upgrade to my 77 that would really make it smoke and handle well...one that wouldn't require a super equiped machine shop and an MIT engineer to figure out

I don't recall ever seeing a straight six conversion in the MGB. Sure, there is a straight six in the MG-C but the front suspension is totally different than the MGB. If money is not a problem a V-6 conversion is probably one of the best conversions. It will normally change the front end weight and there is lots of support on V-6 conversions. Do a search.

Yeah, the V6 conversion is a nice one. Small V8s are plentiful also. Little does some know, but the MG 4 cyl engine weighs more than some small V8s. It's a heavy little chunk of iron, so a total front end rebuild isn't necessary on a rubber bumper car. You already have the heavier front springs. PJ
