stalls

"96 Continental stalls between every 20 to 25 stops at a stop sign or traffic light. Only code is P0133 for bank 1 front o2, which I replaced. Now the code is back, and still have stall problem. Thanks for any help.

I had taken my 95 Continental in for regular maintenance to Walmart. Very handy while shopping. NEVER AGAIN!!

The car was skipping and coughing and putt putting when they backed it out and they had the nerve to tell me to take it to dealership for diagnosis. :headshake

Waitaminnit... It was fine when I brought it in. :confused:

Long story short...my son in law checked for me after I nursed it home and sure enough they had not seated the air filter assembly properly.

I now have a leak in the t-tube that has a small split in it and am having to electric tape it every so often until I can find the part and I don't even know what to ask for. :runaround:

Now I have a leak in the power steering whatsit and I was advised to get Lucus stop leak for that until I can save enough money for repair....so far ...so good.

I love my Lincoln and have spent quite alot on her. (replacement kit from strutmaster, a used transmission and some minor things) However, she is PAYMENT FREE and my tags and taxes are very low.....and most important... INSURANCE is CHEAP.....

I do have a broken driver door handle and have to get in in passenger side to open the door.

Anyone know where I can find the part or do I need to replace the whole door.....???

Hi Weeze.. you really need to start a new thread on unrelated questions, makes it easier for others (reading titles only) to find answers.

Is your handle missing, or just not working? It's possible the connector rod from the handle to the latch has slipped off.. reference #3 in the attached drawing, this is from the 1996 Continental.

Also note #2; these two nuts are all that holds the handle assembly onto the door.. well.. these two nuts and the attached linkage rods.

Contact Mike AKA junkyarddoggie over in the Town Car forum ( LINCOLN > TOWN CAR ) just one level up. He has lots of Lincoln parts. He may even have that Tee Thingie you keep taping.

Note this work is done with the inside door panels and facia gently removed.

The door handle is actually broken from the connection within. I can see the connector and where it is broken and I am wondering if something like metal repair goop will work...I can't think of the name of it but its in a tube.

You can actually use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the connector, but I find it easier to just lower the window to open the door. However, I don't want to do that forever, LOL.

I did find a handle on ebay, that was linked on this site.
I think if I buy it I probably need to take it to a repair shop and have it installed unless son-in-law can "handle" it...:disappoin:wink:.

With some basic car knowledge, inside panel removing skills, and hand tools your son-in-law should be able to "pull it off" LOL.
