Power sliding door will not fully close and latch.

I have a 2004 Sienna that is always garaged. Right now the door will open but when we push the button to close it, it will start to close and just when you expect it to suck in to the body to be locked in place, it won't. The door will then open back up and go clear to the beginning. I looked for any obstructions but there are none. I can force it to close and lock into place by pushing on the door when it tries to close. Anybody know what it could be?

I don't have the solution, but I have the same problem with my 2000. Dropped my kids at school one day, pressed the power door button and the door started to close and then opened again. It will not close.

I called a body shop about it and he said the dealership should have a reset procedure (something like open all windows, disconnect battery, open door, do a little dance, etc.). My dealer wants $150 to even look at the car so I won't be doing it. :nono:

I did google the problem once and came upon a post of the "procedure" and of course, cannot find it again. Hoping someone will post it here.

I solved my problem. Turned out to be a low battery. All is good now.
