This engine was installed for me by a family member who has previously installed 3 engines in other vehciles for me with success. After the engine was put in the car stared 4 times, it then stalled completely. It won't turn over at all now. It sounds like a starter but we just put in a NEW starter after the old one would not turn over. Is it possible that as in some cars the alarm system has disengaged the car? I do not have a FOB for it. When the ignition is turned it just makes a clicking noise. HELP PLEASE!!! SOHC 2.0 engine

Welcome to the Forum!

I don't think an alarm system would have disengaged the starter if it clicked. 1st I"d do a voltage check of the battery. It should be at least 12.6 V. Put a ratchet and socket on the crankshaft pulley and see it it will turn freely. I'm hoping the engine isn't siezed up. If the battery checks out all right you can turn on the lights and when you hit the starter do they dim or go out. That would indicate a siezed engine or a locked up starter. You could run a wire from the + battery post to the solenoid terminal on the starter which is a small tab sometimes marked as S. If it turns over the problem is in the wiring, the ignition switch or the safety neutral switch if you have an automatic transmission.
