Adding Power Steering

I have a 90 Dakota extended cab with 2.2L 4 cyl. Driving this truck with manual steering sucks, especially when downshifting, turning, while pressing brake to go around corner and pressing clutch to downshift.
I want to add power steering to the truck, anyone have experience with this task? Any suggestions? Wondering what I would need to remove/replace. I know I need to add power steering pump and change the steering box. Do I need to swap the column as well? What about other assorted front end parts (tie rods, center link, etc). Need to get front end done anyway, so figured see what I could do to make driving better. Will power steering pump steal remaining horsepower from 4 cylinder engine? There is no A/C, so it should be alright, I think.
Don't want to get rid of it, it runs well for 78k miles on it. Body in good shape, see no visible rust. It is fun to drive except for steering.
